Barbara Joan Watson Obituary
Barbara Joan Watson, age 77 of Amarillo TX, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.
Upon her arrival to the heavens we can be sure she began telling the angels how they could spiffy up the Pearly Gates if they would make a few changes and add some faux paint work. Then she was surely distracted by some shiny sparkling rocks on the ground. Just imagine her first few hours sitting on the ground looking through the rocks just as she did here on earth. Buckets and buckets of rocks surround her home. Anyone need rocks?
She had a very special green thumb and there was not much she could not grow. Plants that were nearly dead she would bring back to life and they would flourish as if they were never close to death. Just as we are sure she will do in her new home in the heavens.
Barbara was well known for not holding back her opinions or thoughts. We will all wonder if she is telling the angels her stories about a great idea for a movie. Her severe narcolepsy and distinct dreams would give her great bizarre ideas for a movie. She loved to tell you about her ideas and how she should write the story.
Quite the gatherer, so much so that she left behind a ton of stuff to her daughters that have no idea what to do with it. She considered herself a recycler and everything could be repurposed. We just can’t find her list of how or when to repurpose these things.
She will be deeply missed. Survived by her husband Gary W Watson; three children, Julia Watson of Dallas, TX; Christina (Dwight) Jones of Dallas, TX; Angela (Jerry) Craig of Bloomingdale,MI. Three grandchildren, Nick (Bekah) Williams of Arlington, TX; Jenay Craig of Gobles, MI; and BJ Taylor of Amarillo, TX; three great grandchildren, McKenzie, Knox and Luke Williams of Arlington, TX. Her siblings, one brother Rod (Debbie) Stewart of Haslet, TX; and four sisters Linda Harmon of Austin, TX.; Kathryn Drentlaw of Arizona; Mary (Steve) McKee of Canyon, TX; Patricia (Rocky) Pepeli of California as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Arthur G Stewart and mother Martha Stewart and a sister Janet Cova.
Honoring her wishes there will be a private family ‘Celebration of Life’ when family members can gather.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Dallas & Northeast Texas Chapter.
